Martyn’s Law Forum
The Martyn’s Law Forum was Co-Founded by Figen Murray MBE and Nathan Emmerich to enhance awareness and collaboration between businesses and the security sector with the UK Government and the Security Industry Authority (SIA). This Forum is open to any professional, business or organisation which Martyn’s Law, officially known as the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, applies to. Our members can expect to:
Keep ahead of the latest updates and developments relating to Martyn’s Law
Gain exclusive insights and expertise from our diverse network
Share resources and learn from examples of best practice
Attend events specific to Martyn’s Law and wider networks
The principles behind this Forum were born from the Martyn’s Law campaign which brought professionals and businesses together in the pursuit of making places more secure and safer for people. We want to ensure that smaller businesses and venues can learn from experiences and access opportunities to implement Martyn’s Law.
We will be providing further details in due course, but in the meantime, it is important to understand where we are up to with Martyn’s Law and what venues and businesses can do to proactively prepare for implementation:
Standard Tier requirements apply to venues with a capacity between 200 and 799 people
Enhanced Tier requirements apply to venues with a capacity greater than 800 people
The SIA will enforce Martyn’s Law requirements following the implementation period, from April 2027
Businesses can begin to prepare for Martyn’s Law by proactively completing ACT e-learning training and conducting standard risk assessments.
You do not need to spend money on consultancy fees or training until section 27 guidance is published, which we will provide an update on this website in due course.
